This year’s Mother/Daughter Retreat was a great success. We had 128 in attendance which was the largest number ever for a Mother/Daughter Retreat at Central Florida Bible Camp. We also really enjoyed meeting with our Spanish sisters from several area congregations. Maribel Preciado helped a great deal in the Spanish area and we were able to have breakout sessions for both Spanish-speakers and English-speakers. We sang beautiful songs and we learned several new songs in Spanish. I know "As the Deer Panteth for the Water" sounds beautiful in English, but you should hear it in Spanish.
We had many games including a scavenger hunt, and a "Do You Know Your Daughter" game along with having pictures of mother/daughters to take home and a final craft of a candy gram centerpiece. We had many families that had grandmother/mother/daughter/granddaughters attend. We even had a few who adopted someone from their congregation so they could come for the weekend.
Everyone had a great time and a lot of people said they would be back next year, so we can make it an even bigger retreat. I would like to thank Jane and her kitchen staff for the great food and the home made cinnamon rolls. I would like to thank everyone who helped this year and I am looking forward to next year.
