About thirty women joined forces September 11-13 and an additional 38 January 29-31 for fun, fellowship and non-stop scrapbooking. This was only the second and third time for CFBC to host a ‘scrap’ — the first was in January of 2009. The ladies, most of whom who are self-avowed scrapbooking enthusiasts, love being together and sharing ideas as they transform their photo memories into beautiful keepsake albums.
Elizabeth Brackett, who serves as coordinator for the event, expressed the thoughts of most of the women when she said it is “... a wonderful relaxing weekend: great fun, great prizes, great food and a definite sense of accomplishment.”
Jacqui Jenkins, from West Palm Beach, had similar sentiments. “I found Scrap Weekend AWESOME! I don't make scrapbooks, but enjoy making cards. So I used the time to get several new card ideas put together. I enjoyed myself tremendously. I met new people and was able to get some great ideas from friends, both old and new. The food was excellent, the work space was ample and the giveaways were AMAZING! Can't wait for the next one.”
The next Scrap the Weekend is scheduled for September 10-12, 2010 and, in fact, will include more than just scrapbooking. Whatever your craft — greeting cards, beading, etc. — come and join in the fun and fellowship!
