The theme for Brackett/Jenkins week at Central Florida Bible Camp was “Dare to Deviate”, and I believe we lived up to it. So many things have changed from years past, but it still had our flavor and enthusiasm. We rolled out a new schedule that maximized the Bible activities, team activities and free time. We also added several new activities such as paintball, passball, and the hypnotist. We have had so many memories it is hard to fit them all in. Dale Jenkins did an amazing job hypnotizing some of the staff and campers. Don’t forget to salute your Real Men of Genius: Mr. Bible Camp Male Nurse and Mr. Over-The-Top Belly Flopper. Congrats to our gold-medal winners: Team 3, and to all our “Campers of the Day!
Personally, Gary and I would like to express our thanks to everyone who made our week, the best Brackett/Jenkins week, yet. We owe much gratitude to the CFBC staff, Ron, Linda, Jane and Eugene. They do a great job with the campus, and have helped to bring CFBC to be a premier summer camp. To all of our Staff, thank you for you constant interaction with the campers and your dedication to making this week a great experience for everyone! Specifically, we’d like to thank Bill Weaver for doing an outstanding job as our Activities Director. Thank you to David Sproule for making our devotionals and worship times uplifting and faith-building. Thank you to Jacqui Jenkins for keeping the week organized and seamless. Thank you to Brad Shelt, Chuck Reeves and Michelle Warren for keeping us healthy.
Finally, thank you to the campers. You are the reason that keeps us coming back to camp year after year. We love seeing your maturity and growth from year to year, and your enthusiasm towards learning God’s Word. I Dare you to Deviate from the world throughout this school year. Remember, never be ashamed of the gospel of Christ because you serve an Awesome God, you have an Awesome Life, and you are promised an Awesome Reward.
Gary and I had a goal to learn every camper by name, and it has been a pleasure getting to know each of you this year. Surprisingly enough, we had all the names by Tuesday! It is my prayer to see everyone again next year and for each of you to bring friends. We would love to have so many campers next year that it takes us until Wednesday to learn your names. Campers, you have truly blessed our lives and we pray that God will bless yours each day as you strive to put Him first.
