TMT Week '09

When we think of TMT (Thornhill/Mullins/Thornhill) Week 2009 at Central Florida Bible Camp, in a word, we can confidently say the week was “spiritual.”

Our theme, “Who Are You? I’m A Believer.”, focused on the apostle Paul’s admonition to his son in the faith, Timothy, to be an example of a Christian in his speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, in spite of his young age. We challenged the campers to be a Christian example with daily Bible classes, chapel talks, and daily memory verses.  Our chapel services were filled with spirited, uplifting, and beautiful singing, which complemented the teaching the campers received from God’s Word. Spirituality was balanced with fun activities each day, such as, sports, arts and crafts, and swimming.

We also enjoyed a series of unique and engaging special activities each evening like a carnival with several carnival-style games, the “CFBC Idol” talent competition, and a “Who Done It?!” mystery that took the campers to different locations throughout the campus in search of clues needed to solve the mystery. “Cornerstone” from Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama, also made a guest appearance. They sang an energetic program of religious and secular songs to entertain the campers, while using the performance opportunity to promote the value of Christian education at Faulkner. Our closing Awards Ceremony ended the week on a high note through recognizing campers and staff for their special contributions to an overall successful week of camp. Our week was capped by two campers being baptized into Christ; truly the highlight of the week, the reason we come together each summer to work in concert at camp for the cause of Christ.

Here are thoughts from three campers about TMT Week 2009:

“I really enjoyed it. Everybody was friendly.”

“Awesome great time.”

“I had a great time. It’s always fun.”

Here is a counselor’s thoughts on TMT Week 2009:

“…Many people have contributed in many different ways to make our week of camp the highlight of my summer!”

Here is a statement from a young person that did not attend TMT Week 2009:

“Bummed that I missed out this year.”

TMT Week is always filled with spirituality, fun, and Christian fellowship. This year was no exception. We are eagerly anticipating an awesome year in 2010 filled with even deeper spirituality, more fun and good times, and closer fellowship in the Lord. We can’t wait for camp to get here again!
